Smart lock integrations

Connect your smart lock system to Rezi for automatic access code generation and delivery for guests.

Smart lock integration eliminates the logistics of key exchange. When a guest books a stay, Rezi automatically generates a unique, time-limited access code, delivers it to the guest via SMS, and invalidates it at checkout. No physical key handoffs, no lockbox codes shared with multiple people, no security risks from codes that outlast their purpose.

Rezi integrates with select smart lock platforms via their APIs. The integration is configured per building and requires that the lock hardware at the property is managed by a supported platform.

Supported platforms

Rezi currently supports integrations with major smart lock platforms used in the short-term rental market. Check Settings > Integrations > Smart Locks for the current list of supported platforms. Common platforms include keypad and connected lock brands that support API-based access code management. If your platform is not listed, contact support@rezi-ai.com to request integration.

Setting up smart lock integration

  1. 1

Log into your smart lock platform's developer or API settings and generate an API key

  2. 2

In Rezi, go to Settings > Integrations > Smart Locks

  3. 3

Select your lock platform and enter the API credentials

  4. 4

Rezi connects and fetches your configured locks

  5. 5

Assign the appropriate lock to each building in Rezi

  6. 6

Test the integration by generating a test code from the lock settings

Once configured, lock management is automatic. For guest reservations, the check-in access code is generated before the check-in message is sent and included in the check-in message template. You can also generate and manage codes manually from the lock management section of the building settings.

Access code lifecycle

Codes generated for guests are valid from check-in time to checkout time, not before, not after. This means a guest cannot access the property before their reservation begins and the code stops working automatically at checkout without any action from you.

Smart lock integration removes the convenience backup of a physical key or lockbox. Ensure every property with smart lock integration has a clear emergency access procedure (property manager on-site, emergency override code, or physical backup key held securely) in case of lock malfunction or connectivity issues.

Battery and connectivity monitoring

Rezi's smart lock integration can display battery level and connectivity status for each connected lock directly in the building settings. Configure alerts to notify you when a lock battery falls below 20% so you can replace it before it causes an access failure during a guest stay. Low battery notifications are sent via the same channels as other Rezi alerts.

What happens if the smart lock loses internet connectivity during a guest stay?
Most smart locks retain recently generated access codes locally on the device even without connectivity. A code generated before a connectivity outage should still work mechanically. However, new codes cannot be generated remotely without connectivity. Ensure locks have reliable network access and have a physical backup procedure for outages.
Can I see a log of when access codes were used?
Yes. Most smart lock platforms maintain an access log that Rezi surfaces in the building's lock settings: who used a code, at what time, and from which code. This log is useful for verifying guest arrivals and investigating any unauthorized access.
Can I give a guest a code that lasts a longer stay?
Yes. You can configure longer code validity windows for extended stays so the code stays active from check-in to checkout, however long that is. The code still expires automatically at checkout.
